Italy network continues to expand nationally
Italy continues its network expansion and action, securing new commitments across the country and engaging the public and policymakers alike. The Mayor of Palermo Leoluca Orlando recently became the most recent signatory of the Urban Diabetes Declaration. Palermo is the capital of Sicily, and the second biggest city in southern Italy, home to 1.2 million people.
The same week, at the AMD Congress (the National Association of the Italian Diabetologists), Professor of Endocrinology Andrea Lenzi presented a memorable speech on Cities Changing Diabetes in Italy and the five principles of the Urban Diabetes Declaration.
