Understanding health equity

At its core, health equity means that everyone should have a fair chance to live a healthy life. Yet around the world, those chances are not equally shared. This short animation follows Kai and Maya, whose neighbourhoods differ in their access to fresh food, safe streets and places to play. It makes the case that health equity is not about treating everyone the same, but about recognising who faces extra hurdles and giving support where it is needed most.
