COPI in Mississauga

Small, community-led changes are helping create healthier places for children in Mississauga, Canada. Growing Healthy Places, part of the Childhood Obesity Prevention Initiative (COPI), brings together two community-led projects: 8 80 TOWERpops, which transforms unused spaces into places for play, and the Malton Youth Hub, which offers free meals, cooking classes and social support for young people. The initiative is now expanding these activities into schools in order to learn what works and how to sustain it.
