Bogotá: A bus stop becomes a gateway to healthier eating

Healthy eating often depends on what is within reach. In Bogotá's outer neighbourhood, San Luis Chapinero, the steep terrain and long commutes mean fresh food is out of reach for many residents. The health department and local community groups responded by transforming a school bus stop into something more, adding seating, a mural, and an edible garden to create a space where healthy food was available and accessible. Food-related activity at the site rose by 240%, and 60% of residents said that it inspired them to eat more healthily.
