We are thrilled to share the news that the Steno Diabetes Center
Copenhagen, a founding partner of Cities Changing Diabetes, recently
won the Danish Diabetes Association’s Action Award for its Integrated
Diabetes Intervention (IDIT) in the district of Tingbjerg.
Paul Bloch, senior researcher and project manager, received the award
on behalf of Steno Diabetes Center Copenhagen. "We chose to work
in Tingbjerg because it was a really difficult nut to crack in
relation to promoting the health of some very vulnerable citizens. And
now, the nut is actually about to crack. It's fantastic," says
Paul, referring to the latest figures on diabetes incidence in
Tingbjerg.
The judging panel selected the programme for
the award because it brought together effective prevention
interventions and treatment courses into one coherent health plan for
vulnerable citizens and backed that up with a strong diabetes network
with a professional support system.
Congratulations,
and well done to all involved. If you want to get inspired by the
